Ruling Elder Horace Nelson Turner, Sr.
 

Ruling Elder Horace Nelson Turner, Sr. was born in Abbeville, Georgia to the late Raleigh W. Turner and the late Katie Maud Turner. He is the seventh son and the fourteenth child. He graduated with a carpentry degree from Ben Hill Irvin Vocational Technical School in Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Horace Turner accepted the Lord and Savior in his life in 1980. Mr. Turner started a bible study in a home and from there to an old funeral home and from there to a store front. In 1986, he was ordained a minister. Later, he built Sears Street Church of God by Faith, Inc. located in Douglas, Georgia where he currently serves as pastor.

Min. Horace Nelson Turner and Sandra LaFaye Turner were joined together in holy matrimony in 1992 and became one. Together they have six children and several grandchildren.

Ruling Elder Turner has profoundly influenced the radio and TV ministries by preaching the gospel weekly on the radio and daily on the television in the Coffee County area. In 1999, he became chaplain at the Coffee Correctional Facility in Nicholls, GA for 4 ½ years. Ruling Elder Turner resigned on August 10, 2004 and became a full time pastor. In May 2004, he received a Doctoral Degree from Faith Bible College in Theology under Dr. Bivins. On December 19, 2004, Dr. Turner was elected as a National Ruling Elder of the Church of God by Faith, Inc.

Ruling Elder Turner is a man of God that loves the church and his family. He is always constructing projects that will benefit God's Church. He explains, “I'm happiest when I'm going and doing for the Master."
